Frequently Asked Questions

Who is allowed to collect my child?

Children will only be allowed home with their own parents unless the staff have had written permission from parents in advance advising staff of any alternative arrangements and the date this is to occur. Should an emergency arise where parents are unable to collect their child, please telephone the school immediately on 01223 508790 and advise staff of the arrangements that have been made for the collection of your child. Children will not be allowed home with a ‘friend’ or ‘neighbour’ without prior consent from parents.

What is integrated care?

It is high quality care that is delivered alongside the education and is paid for by parents. It runs from 8am to 5.15pm. Please see the Integrated Care page.

Is there a uniform?

No. We strongly recommend loose comfortable clothes that will be appropriate for taking part in all Nursery activities and can be easily washed. We spend a lot of time outdoors, so please ensure your child has a warm coat in school every day, especially as the English weather can be so variable. In summer please could you provide your child with a sun hat and put sun block cream on before they come to school.

How will I know what is going on in school?

Each week you will receive details of what is happening in the nursery the following week. In the entrance hall there are noticeboards and a screen showing photographs of the children taking part in activities. Parents are always welcome in our school and we look forward to working with you as partners in your child’s learning and development. If there is anything you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to contact us. Each term you will get the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with your child’s key adult.

What is the best way to travel to Brunswick?

We encourage parents to walk or cycle to school but this is not always possible for some families. We recommend parking in Sturton Street or St Matthews Street.
